Lone Wolf Reviews: Impeach Bush Now!
Richard Nixon has probably been the most villified President of my lifetime, with the possible exception of Johnson. (They are the only two that had poll numbers as bad as Bush, also.) As Lisa Mascaro points out in her excellant article - see link below - even Nixon did not try to stop John Dean from testifying before Congress. Bush has refused to let anyone from the Attorney General's office testify. And we called Nixon imperialist! The three branches of government were set up as checks and balances, which does not work if one branch refuses to fulfill its constitutional obligations. (Or overstep its bounds, as the Supreme Court clearly did after the 2000 election - but its too late, well over 3000 lives too late, to argue about that one.)
You add to that the spying on Americans without warrants, other incidents of circumventing the oversight of Congress, unlawful detainment of American citizens, etc. Please read the articles below for more details.
I mentioned checks and balances. The only thing left to try to check this individual, who may have permanently damaged our relations with many foreign countries, is for the House to perform its grand jury function as laid out in our constitution and draw up Articles of Impeachment. Bruce Fein's would be fine by me.
The Republicans are blocking everything the Democrats are trying to do anyway, so why not have a public forum on how screwed up this administration really is.
Why isn't impeachment gaining more traction?, By Lisa Mascaro
This is the full article from the Las Vegas Sun, including the Artecles drawn up by Fein.
